Package bees

Went in the hives this morning and checked to see if my queens was out. One was out and the other is still in the cage. Didn't look like it would be long before she will be out. Have a lot of activity around the hive. The bees are bringing in pollen and doing well.

So we got into the hives today. Looks like both queens are doing well and laying. Seen some eggs and larva none caped yet but I expect some will be in 5 or 6 days. Drawing comb real good at the rate there drawing it out I'll be adding the second brood box soon. Looks like there slowing down on syrup but I suspect we entering a natural flow (not sure) . So all is going good as of now. I did however find a single mite on the printed board under the screen. So far so good.

Yes, there is a flow coming on. Clover is blooming, blackberries are starting, and poplar is beginning to open. Likely a few other things as well.

There is a small patch of blackberrys not far from my hives that are blooming and the bees has been happy campers in those things. I really need to learn what blooms when and be able to identify those plants/trees in the wild. Know any good resources?
