Feeding new package bees
Quote from martym on April 13, 2017, 8:40 PMmy bees have been in the hives for a week now and the queens are out, don't know if there laying yet I think I'll check maybe Sunday. But I have one hive that's eating around a quart a day, the other is eating close to twice that. I haven't been in the hives to see what's going on yet but does this sound normal? I filled a quart jar today at 4:30 pm and by 7:30 it was half full. There's a lot of activity at the entrance ( bees fighting ) so I installed robbing screens. Screens has been on a few days now. Maybe there just drawing a lot of comb...any thoughts?
