Added angle steel to avoid crushing bees

I built the stands for my hives with 2 x 8 platforms for the hives to sit on but got tired of crunching bees everytime I set parts down on the 2 x 8's. So I added some angle steel to the top of the 2 x 8's and that reduced the area of contact and dramatically decreased the number of bees being crunched.

This has worked out really well. As the bees have built there is comb below the bottom of the feeder in the spacer area. I would be crushing this everytime without the angle steel to hold the feeder up from the 2 x 8's

Angle Iron

I like it , I think it's a good idea. I usually just flip my top cover over and sit my boxes across them.
