Swarm Season Has Started

We got word from Alamance County (Burlington area) that a club member there picked up a swarm Monday.  I am seeing drones flying from all of my stronger hives.  It is only a matter of time.

I just hope the weather holds out. I do have some traps out...keeping my fingers crossed.

Yes, it has started.

Keith and I caught a nice swarm in Staley Wednesday evening.

It was a nice looking swarm, I seen it on Facebook. I have a few traps out maybe I'll get lucky

Has anyone heard anything about swarms this year, last year it seemed to start early, but I wonder if it will be delayed because of the persistent cold and rain.  My girls are out anytime the weather allows, but I haven't seen any drones yet.  I haven't been able to get into my hives yet to see what is happening.

I had drone cells two weeks ago. I plan to get into them Friday. Hopefully, I'll be able to give an update then.

Anyone seeing signs of swarming.  I have swarm traps I plan to set out this week, and just wondering if I am too late?

I picked up one today. You aren't too late until mid June.
